Attorney Elizabeth "Bess" Battle

A South Carolina native, Elizabeth “Bess” Battle focuses her practice on all aspects of family law, including divorce, adoption, child support, child custody/visitation agreements and modification and enforcement proceedings.

Bess is a compassionate attorney who knows that dealing with family law issues can be stressful and emotional for clients. She is committed to resolving legal matters sensitively and quickly so that you and your family can have a healthy and happy life together.

She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and went on to receive her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000.

Bess served as a law clerk for South Carolina Circuit Court Judge J.C. “Buddy” Nicholson Jr. of the 10th Judicial District. From 2001-2009, she worked as the Opinions Editor for South Carolina Lawyers Weekly, where she became familiar with important court decisions in state and federal courts, including the S.C. Court of Appeals, S.C. Supreme Court and U.S. District Court.

Bess has also been active in South Carolina politics. Before opening her law firm, she worked as a registered lobbyist for The Palmetto Policy Group in Columbia. She has also served as a Legislative Aide to Rep. J. Cordell Maddox Jr. and as a Senate Page for Sen. Greg Smith.
